We always talk about the best airports in the world and generally we are looking to encourage people to visit the country and improve its reputation for tourists.
But not all the airports in the world can be put in that category, the website «Sleeping in airports” has unveiled its ranking of the worst airports in the world. The criteria used to make this ranking were: comfort, cleanliness, (free WiFi, choice of restaurants, toilets, etc.), and the travel service.
The registered voters gave the following ranking:
1. Islamabad Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Pakistan:
The first place for the worst airport in the world goes to Islamabad Benazir Bhutto International Airport; voters judged the security check staff aggressive and found the airport dirty and with no technology at all.
2. Jeddah King Abdulaziz International Airport, saoudi Arabia:
The airport is dirty,the waiting lines are very long with a limited number of chairs.
3. Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, Nepal:
Some described it as a bus stop station with dirty toilets and no air conditioning system.
4. Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Philippines:
3 years ago this airport was ranked number one in the category of the worst airports in the world but it has known some improvements lately but travelers are still complaining about the long waiting lines.
5. Tashkent International Airport, Ouzbekistan :
Though some changes have been done, passengers are still frustrated by the long waiting lines.
6. Paris Beauvais Tille International Airport, France:
This might surprise you but this airport is been qualified to be dirty,not big enough and not “friendly” enough.
7. Frankfurt Hahn International Airport, Germany
Voters find the airport to be too far from the city (120km away) and they find it unwelcoming
8. Bergamo Orio al Serio International Airport, Italy :
Some hash opinions suggest taking the whole airport down, they find it very tiny with no technology and they think that the staff are very nervous.
9. Berlin Tegel International Airport, Germany:
Not enough chairs, long waiting lines, agglomerated restaurants, the only good thing about it is that it’s not far from the city.
10. New York City LaGuardia International Airport, USA:
Described as dirty with a poor sense of design, a limited selection of restaurants and uncooperative staff.
